Children, Youth & Young Adults

  • The Children Ministry meets the spiritual needs of our young people. We partner with parents to guide the kids toward a heart for God. Ages 2-9. Sis. Charisma Smith at 225-993-8994.

  • The Youth & Young Adult Ministry help youth and young adults develop a personal relationship with Jesus by providing them the resources to grow in worship, ground them in the Word, and give them opportunities to witness and server others. We also given them the skills and support groups they need to make wise decisions at this critical time in their lives. Ages 10-35. Bro. Jason Burden at 225-235-5944.


Christian Education

  • The Christian Education ministry is responsible for ALL educational aspects of the ministry (workshops, seminars, school of ministry, etc.). For more information contact Rev. Christopher Chappell. 1st Saturdays of each month at 9:00 a.m.



  • The MCBC Deacon Ministry is an extension of the Pastor, aiding in the ministry and aid in the care of the people to fulfill his vision. We function as servants, ministering to the body in practical ways and always assisting where needed. No matter who we serve, Scriptures makes it clear that ministering as a deacon is a rewarding and honorable calling in the church. For more information, contact Bro.   • Meetings are 2nd Saturdays of each month at 9:00 a.m.


  • The MCBC Deaconess Ministry is a group of women who is an extension of the Pastor serves the congregation and community. We assist with church ordinances, supporting the clergy, ministering to the needy and educating female church members. For more information, contact Sis. Doris Rathers  at 225-456-5901.


  • The Evangelism Ministry is an outreach ministry going out into surrounding communities witnessing to men, women, boys and girls about the true love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For more information, contact Min. Freddie Williams  at 225-810-2007.


  • MCBC Greeters Ministry welcome visitors and members attending service and ensure their needs and concerns are met.  Being a greeter involves more than just standing at the door and shaking people’s hands as they enter the church. It is a ministry. Our responsibility is to help all who come to worship feel joy, sincerity, importance, peace and comfort when they enter the doors of the church.  Most of all, we help them feel welcomed. For more information, contact Bro.   • The Media is responsible for the production and distribution of all recordings (audio & video). The Ministry is responsible for presenting weekly announcements to the congregation. For more information, contact Sis. Dawn Kight at 225-337-7252.

Men's Ministry

  • The Men’s Ministry caters to all men of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Family. Our mission is to unite, equip and develop men to be followers of Jesus Christ, through the Word of God and prayer.  For more information, contact Deacon Kenny Anderson 225-572-1307.

  • Men’s Bible Study----is the active pursuit of men in order to connect them to God, His Word, and other men through study and fellowship for the purpose of winning, growing, and training God’s men in Christ. Every Tuesday at 7:00 pm.   • The Music Ministry consists of members of all ages used by God to minister His message through song. MCBC Music Ministry ushers God’s people into His presence with praise and worship. Music Department consists of musicians and singers who have been called by. For more information, contact Minister Albert White 225-445-9075 or Sis. Janice Smith at 225-228-8255.

  • Rehearsal Days 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursdays of each month at 7:00 p.m.


New Members

  • The New Member’s Ministry is responsible for making sure that all members who have joined Mt. Carmel are well orientated through the New Members Orientation and Discipleship Training classes. For more information contact Sis. Gloria Hollins at 225-355-1122.


  • The general duties of a security guard at a church usually include protecting the facility and employees and members from theft, fire, vandalism or other criminal activity. For more information contact Bro. Joe Thomas at 225-772-1941.

Sunday School

Trustee Ministry

  • Trustees function as Christian stewards of property God has entrusted to the congregation. This includes supervising and maintaining both the physical property and gifts made to the congregation so that the ministries can be effective. For more information, contact Sis. Usher Ministry

  • The Usher Ministry is the official doorkeepers at MCBC, whose primary function is to assist the ministerial staff by the escorting, directing, seating and the general keeping of order for persons who come to participate in worship services.   • Youth and Young Adult Ushers meet 1st Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.

Women's Ministry

  • The Women’s Ministry caters to all women of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church family and the community. We equip women in the church to enrich each other’s lives through Christ, to discover their spiritual gifts to use in ministry, as well as determine needs within the community. Finally, we lead women to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, maintaining a healthy love relationship with Him and sharing him with others. 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. For more information, contact Sis.   • Women’s Bible Study---is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ through group prayer, the study and application of Scripture.
