Reverend Ronald T. Williams...and his name shall be called Leader, Shepherd, Teacher, Pastor... For God so loves the Mount Carmel Baptist Church that He sent to us a son beloved ~ prepared, anointed and called ~ that whosoever would hear his voice and hearken to his message would clearly understand godly principles and upon accepting Jesus as Lord would be an heir to life eternal. The last of the children, in fact the twelfth of twelve born to the late Charlie D. and Corine Williams, is our pastor, Reverend Ronald Tyrone Williams who was called to the preaching ministry at the tender but accountable age of twelve. After prayerful preparation he accepted the call at the age of thirty. Reverend Williams was licensed to preach by the late Reverend Jesse Davis at Israelite Baptist Church in 1984. Reverend Williams preached his first sermon at Israelite Baptist Church in 1983. His preparations for service include McKinley High School, from which he graduated in 1970; Southern University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 and Christian Bible College where he was awarded the Bachelor of Theology and Doctorate of Divinity. Before coming to us, Reverend Williams pastured at Antioch Baptist Church for five years, having been installed there in 1990. He assisted Reverend Alvin Francois, pastor of Belfair Baptist Church and acting president of Emanuel Baptist Church Aid. Reverend Williams, served as instructor of Christian Bible College. At Israelite, as well as Belfair, Reverend Williams was an outstanding Sunday School teacher. He received special commendation for his teaching at Belfair. His talents are not under a bushel and he is not burying his resources in the sand. Here at Mount Carmel revenues are on the rise, our building dreams have become reality and Reverend Williams serves in numerous religious and civic areas. Avid in the area of Christian Education and Pastoral Preparedness, Reverend Williams teaches Principles of Biblical Hermeneutics at Christian Bible College. He is an Operation Coach for DuPont/Dow. Reverend Williams has received numerous awards, plaques and certificates attesting to his competence and effectiveness. He is indeed God's beloved son and surely God is pleased with him. He is married to the former Terry Green and they have three girls; Tericka, Terrilyn, and Teronesha. |
